{"id":4062,"date":"2022-05-03T09:00:53","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T07:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.da-aurelio.it\/?page_id=4062"},"modified":"2022-05-19T11:18:55","modified_gmt":"2022-05-19T09:18:55","slug":"aurelio-and-gigi-dariz","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.da-aurelio.it\/en\/aurelio-and-gigi-dariz\/","title":{"rendered":"Our History"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/div>\n<div\n    class=\"w-full relative  bg-white   text-pale-leaf-800 min-h-64 overflow-visible font-sans pt-8\">\n        <div class=\"max-w-5xl mx-auto p-16 text-xl md:text-3xl text-center\">\n        Our story began <strong>more than 50 years ago<\/strong> with <strong>Fernanda and Aurelio Dariz<\/strong>, who decided to open the <strong>Piezza Refuge<\/strong> in the Giau Pass in <strong>1970.<\/strong>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-container\">\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>mountain hut<\/strong> located between Fedare and the top of the pass soon became renowned for its restaurant \u2013 \u201cDa Aurelio\u201d \u2013 and a favourite among its customers for its wholesome, tasty cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ever since he was a young boy, <strong>Luigi <\/strong>\u2013 Gigi \u2013 loved helping his dad in the kitchen, keen to learn everything he could and realising the importance of experience, invaluable to him in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>1996 <\/strong>Gigi took over the family business and, under his guidance, the restaurant Da Aurelio took a <strong>different direction<\/strong>, moving away from the more traditional approach and embracing culinary <strong>innovation and research.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, Gigi decided to give the actual refuge a <strong>new look <\/strong>too. A large extension was added to the original building in 2018, creating the dining room with its south-facing windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Gigi Dariz and Aurelio are the protagonists of this story, every member of the team has an important part.
