

I am Luigi Dariz, but my friends call me Gigi. More than 30 years ago my father Aurelio Dariz, a well travelled and accomplished chef, built the Rifugio Piezza da Aurelio in his home Commune of Colle Santa Lucia not far from the world famous Cortina d'Ampezzo. The restaurant first opened for business in 1970. Over the years we at da Aurelio have acquired a loyal and discerning following; not to mention an entry in the Michelin Red Guide to Italy, where they have awarded us two “knives and forks”. The splendour of the mountain location and the welcoming ambience and service, together with our attention to detail and outstanding cuisine, have attracted visitors and compliments from as far away as the USA and Australia.
